Vigan Tiles & Bricks (Damili) Supplier, Direct from Vigan
Vigan tiles, called damili in Ilocano, are hand-formed terracotta tiles produced in artisan kilns across Vigan and surrounding Ilocos Sur. The production tradition predates Spanish colonization and continues today through several family-operated kilns whose work appears in Vigan’s UNESCO-recognized heritage architecture.
We source direct from Vigan. One of the few remaining traditional kiln operators using original wood-fired methods. No resale chain. No Bulacan markup.
Locked B2B Pricing, Direct Supply
Tiles:
- 8x8 inch: ₱45/piece
- 10x10 inch: ₱55/piece
- 12x12 inch: ₱60/piece
- Octagon: ₱55/piece
Bricks (Red and Antique White variants):
- 1x1x8 inch (Antique White): ₱11/piece
- 1x2x8 inch (Red or White): ₱13/piece
- 1x4x8 inch (Red or White): ₱18/piece
- 2x4x8 inch (Red): ₱45/piece
The character that distinguishes authentic Vigan tile is unrepeatable by machine-made terracotta: subtle dimensional variation (±1/8 inch is normal), edge texture from hand-forming, color depth from traditional kilns, and the patina that develops as tiles age.
Sourcing chain: direct supply, no Bulacan markup
The Bulacan resale market dominates retail Vigan tile distribution because quarry-direct logistics historically required established freight relationships. Bypassing that chain saves project-volume buyers approximately 25-50% on equivalent material.
For heritage restoration projects, we maintain provenance documentation suitable for NHCP filings and COA submissions. For commercial projects, we provide authenticity statements and traditional production certification on Sales Invoice.
Selecting the right tile or brick
Tile selection by application:
- 8x8 inch. Most versatile size, residential floors, accent floors, walls
- 10x10 inch. Fewer grout lines for cleaner modern installations
- 12x12 inch. Feature floors and patios with premium thickness
- Octagon. Heritage and boutique applications, traditional damili patterns
Brick selection by application:
- 1x1x8 (Antique White). Accent walls, decorative detailing
- 1x2x8 (Red or White). Feature walls, fireplace surrounds
- 1x4x8 (Red or White). Wider face for full-thickness wall applications
- 2x4x8 (Red). Structural brick for load-bearing wall construction
For heritage restoration, send a sample tile or detailed photo with measurements. Our partner kiln can match historical patterns including damili from specific decades.
Installation considerations
Hand-formed tiles have natural dimensional variation of ±1/8 inch. Installers familiar with handmade tile compensate by adjusting grout spacing rather than forcing uniform alignment. The slight irregularity is part of the aesthetic.
For exterior or wet locations, seal tiles before grouting. Use breathable terracotta sealer to prevent staining and efflorescence. Re-seal every 3-5 years. We provide installation guidelines with every order and can connect you with experienced installers.
Documentation
We are BIR-registered. Standard documentation includes Sales Invoice, Official Receipt, and Delivery Receipt. On request: COA-compliant documentation, NHCP-suitable provenance statements, traditional production certification, supplier credentials. PhilGEPS-eligible orders coordinated case-by-case.

Procurement FAQ
What is the price of Vigan tiles in the Philippines?
Direct from our partner kiln: 8x8 inch ₱45/piece, 10x10 inch ₱55/piece, 12x12 inch ₱60/piece, Octagon ₱55/piece. Bricks: 1x1x8 Antique White ₱11, 1x2x8 (Red or White) ₱13, 1x4x8 (Red or White) ₱18, 2x4x8 Red ₱45. Volume discounts apply at 1,000+ pieces. Bulacan resale chains typically charge significantly above these direct prices.
What's the difference between Red and Antique White bricks?
Red and Antique White refer to color variants of the our partner brick line. Red is the natural deeper terracotta color. Antique White is the lighter, weathered-looking finish achieved through different kiln conditions and clay preparation. Both are produced from the same Vigan-region clay through the same hand-forming process. Antique White is particularly popular for feature walls and modern minimalist interiors; Red for traditional and heritage applications.
Where do you source these tiles and bricks?
Direct from artisan kilns in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. Our partner is one of the few remaining traditional damili producers using original wood-fired kiln methods. We do not source through Bulacan resale chains, which mark up prices significantly. Our direct relationship means project-volume buyers get pricing 25-50% below typical Bulacan retail.
What sizes and shapes are available?
Standard tiles: 8x8, 10x10, 12x12 inch flat tiles, plus Octagon. Standard bricks: 1x1x8, 1x2x8, 1x4x8, 2x4x8 inch. Custom sizes and shapes are made-to-order with 4-6 week lead times. We can also coordinate custom architectural details: archway facing, column wraps, niche tile, decorative borders. Send specifications for project-specific quotes.
What is the minimum order?
Standard sizes: 500 pieces minimum gets best per-piece pricing on tiles (typically 25-30 sqm). Bricks: 500 pieces minimum (about 30 sqm of accent wall depending on size). Custom sizes typically require 100+ pieces minimum. Smaller orders accepted but per-piece pricing reflects production minimums.
Can you do custom sizes for heritage restoration?
Yes. Custom dimensions, custom shapes, and reproduction of historic tile patterns are available. Minimum order applies (typically 100+ pieces for non-standard sizes). Lead time runs 4-6 weeks. For heritage restoration projects, we can match existing tile patterns from a sample provided. We provide kiln source documentation suitable for NHCP filings.
How are these tiles installed?
Standard thinset mortar installation similar to ceramic tile. For exterior or wet applications we recommend sealing with a breathable terracotta sealer to prevent staining and efflorescence. Tile spacing typically 1/8 to 1/4 inch with sanded grout. Installation crews familiar with handmade tile produce best results because of natural ±1/8 inch dimensional variation.
Are these suitable for outdoor and pool surrounds?
Yes, with proper sealing. Vigan tiles handle Philippine weather well including rain, humidity, and temperature variation. Exterior installations should be sealed before grouting and re-sealed every 3-5 years. For pool surrounds, additional water-resistant and chlorine-tolerant sealing is recommended. Avoid use in areas with heavy salt exposure unless properly sealed.
What's the typical lifespan?
Properly installed and maintained Vigan tiles last decades. Original 100+ year old installations are still in service across Ilocos heritage sites. The natural terracotta develops patina over time which most clients consider an aesthetic asset. Sealed installations require periodic resealing but the tiles themselves are essentially permanent.
Do you provide installation services?
We supply tiles and bricks. Installation can be coordinated through our partnered tile installers familiar with hand-formed terracotta, or your contractor can install with our installation guide. For heritage restoration projects, we recommend installers with experience on similar work because hand-formed tiles require different setting technique than machine-made.
What's the typical lead time?
Stock standard sizes: 2-3 days from order. Larger volume orders or fast-moving sizes that are currently between batches: up to 1 week. Custom sizes and shapes: 4-6 weeks. Project-volume orders (5,000+ pieces): timeline coordinated to project schedule. For heritage restoration with custom-matched sizes, expect 6-8 weeks including sample matching.
Do you provide authenticity documentation?
Yes. For heritage restoration projects requiring provenance documentation, we provide kiln source documentation, traditional production certification, and material origin statements suitable for COA submissions, NHCP filings, or ESG reporting. Standard projects receive Sales Invoice with origin statement noting direct kiln sourcing.
