How mature trees are graded

Mature trees are spec'd by caliper, the trunk diameter measured 6 inches above grade for trees under 4 inches caliper, or 12 inches above grade for larger specimens. Caliper is the procurement standard because it correlates directly with root system establishment, transplant survival, and immediate visual impact at install.

Most landscape projects spec one of three grades:

  • Standard residential (2 to 3 inch caliper, 8 to 10 ft height): The most common request for new home landscaping. Established but compact, easier to transport, lower cost per unit.
  • Premium residential / hospitality (3 to 6 inch caliper, 10 to 15 ft height): Resort entrances, BGC corporate plazas, premium subdivisions. Strong visual impact at install.
  • Specimen / heritage (6 to 8+ inch caliper, 15+ ft height): Statement specimens for hotel entrances, executive residences, public landmarks. Photographed and reserved before delivery.

Sourcing chain

We work directly with established tree farms across Bulacan, Cavite, and Laguna where most Philippine landscape stock is grown. Trees are pre-conditioned for transplant: containerized or root-pruned 6 to 12 months before sale to ensure the root ball will survive relocation. We avoid unprepared field stock, which is the leading cause of mature tree mortality on transplant.

Logistics and installation

Standard specimens (up to 6 inch caliper) move on flatbed trucks with proper root ball wrapping. Larger specimens require crane loading and escorted transport for oversized loads. We handle the full logistics chain: pickup, transport permits, escort coordination, site delivery, and crane unloading. Installation can be coordinated through our team or handled by your contractor with our planting protocol.

Documentation and procurement

We are BIR-registered and supply standard documentation: Sales Invoice, Official Receipt, Delivery Receipt, planting protocol document, and warranty terms. COA-compliant documentation available on request for institutional projects. PhilGEPS-eligible orders coordinated case-by-case for government and academic projects.

Procurement FAQ

What does "caliper" mean and why does it matter?

Caliper is the trunk diameter measured at 6 inches above the soil line for trees under 4 inches caliper, or at 12 inches above grade for larger specimens. Caliper is the standard procurement spec for mature trees because it correlates with established root system, transplant survival rate, and immediate landscape impact. Larger caliper = more mature, higher cost, faster establishment.

How are mature trees transported and delivered?

Specimens up to ~6 inch caliper move on flatbed trucks with proper root ball wrapping. Larger specimens may require crane loading at origin and destination, escorted transport for oversized loads, and pre-coordinated unloading. We handle the full logistics chain. Delivery windows are typically scheduled in advance for site readiness.

What is your transplant survival guarantee?

For trees properly installed and maintained per our planting protocol, we offer establishment support during the first 90 days. Specifics vary by species and project size. Send your specs and we will detail the warranty terms in the quote.

Do you provide planting and installation services?

Yes. We coordinate full planting installation including site prep, root ball placement, staking, soil amendment, and initial watering. Most clients combine our supply with our installation team. We also supply with installation handled by your contractor if preferred.

Can you source specific specimens before ordering?

Yes. For specimen-grade trees (typically 6+ inch caliper or unique form), we can photograph and document available specimens at our partner nurseries. You select before deposit. Standard production-grade specimens (2-4 inch caliper) ship from current inventory matching your spec.

Do you deliver to Visayas and Mindanao?

Yes for sufficient project volume. Inter-island freight requires advance coordination, sea container or RoRo logistics, and timing windows. Smaller orders are best for Luzon-wide delivery. Bulk orders to VisMin we will quote with logistics included.

What documentation do you provide for procurement?

Standard: Sales Invoice, Delivery Receipt, planting protocol document. On request: COA-compliant documentation, BIR-compliant Official Receipt (we are BIR-registered), warranty terms, supplier credentials. PhilGEPS-eligible orders coordinated case-by-case.

When is the best season to transplant mature trees?

In the Philippines, mature tree transplant works year-round but the cooler months (November to February) reduce transplant stress. Wet season (June to October) requires careful site drainage. We coordinate timing with your project schedule and weather forecast.

Need a species not listed?

We source on request. Tabebuia, Frangipani, Adonidia, Livistona, and others available for project-volume orders.
